Think your organization has too many security or privacy concerns to adopt DevOps? Do you know of teams that want to adopt DevOps, but don’t have the means to manage their entire tool pipeline? Perhaps you work somewhere that doesn’t yet realize they are a software organization with a unique focus? If NSA, where security is our middle name, can adopt DevOps and tackle sharing tools for top secret, compartmented information, then so can you!

In 2018, a small group of aspiring technology leaders succeeded in tying industry DevOps best practices and developer productivity to NSA’s intelligence analysis goals, gaining senior leadership support and funding for DevX - a secure, paved road for developers. Once DevX started, the hard work of culture change began. We’ll share some of our bureaucracy-hacking tactics, postmortem practice challenges, and how we’re enabling teams across NSA to work together and go faster.
